What does LASU tuition include?

Tuition covers all academic classes in Professional Golf Management (PGM) as well as career planning and placement services. Tuition also covers professional golf training via golf activities five days a week. All green fees, range balls and private lessons with our PGA professionals are included in our students' college tuition. Also included with the golf instructional program are use of a driving range and training aids such as video cameras, putter tracks, swing plane trainers, swing mirrors, indoor hitting cages, weight shift monitors, and training clubs.

How much is tuition, and when are tuition payments made?

After acceptance, new students receive a student contract which must be completed and returned with a $500 deposit to reserve a place in the entering class. The deposit will be applied to the payment of the tuition for the first semester with the balance due the 1st of the month preceding the semester start. Students are billed for one semester at a time. For the current tuition rates, please check the Tuition section for each degree and certificate programs.

What are the requirements for enrollment?

Men and women must be past the age of compulsory education and have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent. We are looking for students who are goal-oriented and hard working. Students must provide a completed Application for Admission, and an official transcript for high school and, if applicable, college. Transfer credits can be considered. Transcripts must be stamped, signed and sealed by the school to be accepted by LASU. Also needed are three letters of recommendation as noted in the "reference" section of the Application.

Are International Students Issued an I-20?

Our school is currently working on obtaining a federal approval to issue I-20s to our international students. Once approved, our international students can study for the full duration of their attendance at the college. The college issues the prospective student an I-20 letter, which the student then uses to obtain the F-1 visa, the standard visa for international students attending colleges in the U.S.

How long is the Management program?

LA Sports University offers a four-semester program which takes 16 months to complete. For specific schedules, check the Academic Calendar.

Are there extracurricular activities for students?

Each semester, we have three major, multi-day golf tournaments: The President's Cup, The International Cup, and the Semester Championship. Students qualify for the President's Cup and the International Cup based on their semester scoring averages and they play against the faculty team. The Semester Championship is a students only tournament and is contested to crown each semester's champion. Each of the tournaments includes awards and prizes presented by the University.

In addition to golf, LASU students take part in a variety of other extra curricular activities from ice hockey to bowling. Students are fortunate that Southern California offers a wide variety of things to do and places to go.

What are provisions for individual differences among students?

A hallmark of our professionalism is that each administrator and faculty member understands that great individual differences exist among our students. Coming from anywhere in the world, students may range from practicing lawyers, accountants, and others with advanced degrees and broad life-experience to young students just out of high school. Our faculty is fully aware that these great educational differences create special challenges in planning classes to intrigue and involve everyone. To pace a class appropriately while building in thoughtful content takes dedication, enthusiasm and creative preparation.
